BOSTES heads online to educate educators how to mark NAPLAN.
It's not surprising technology has played a significant role in changing the way adult learning is conducted. After all with the internet now at our fingertips, it certainly has opened greater opportunities for educators to up-skill, without leaving their school or home office.
Bold Ideas was engaged by the Board of Studies Teaching Educational Standards (BOSTES) to transform the way NAPLAN Literacy Marking training was conducted. Formerly, training was held face-to-face in large auditoriums. It meant educators had to travel from all over the state - a costly exercise on one hand, but also a logistical challenge on the other - with travel and accommodation, and well-equipped training rooms to be arranged.
As a result, Bold Ideas developed a number of video and online training programs, specifically Persuasive Writing and Narrative Writing exams.
